Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former world number one, has had a torrid season, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents his maiden championship after the Rome competition and first on a hard court after spring of the previous year.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has won 21 championships at twenty-one various competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my children together, so to win a championship is really nice," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.
His counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had led observers to question if his skill to perform at the elite level was concluded.
But the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, supported by an improved serving game.
He recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to push for a third set.
The opponent saved four initial opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
